Most kids get a trim before school starts. At 4 years old, when school broke for summer we decided together to have Rhett’s hair cut into a Mohawk for the summer. Rhett walked into the barber and said he wants a Mohawk. That summer, the Mohawk was born, and so the story began.
But Mohawks are short-lived. They burn bright. By fall, the sides grew back… but he didn’t tame them. We let ‘em run wild. That’s when the idea a mullet took hold! We dove head-first into the idea…
Slowly shaping the front and sides, and letting the Turtleneck grow backwards, from the top down! Thus, the evolution of the soon to be Alabama Turtleneck in all its glory!
Now, almost 8 years old and nearly 4 years deep into the cut that says, “I don’t follow rules—I make ‘em.” He drives his go-kart like it’s street legal, plays baseball like he’s on TV, and draws attention with his glorious locks.
He doesn’t just wear a mullet. He lives it.
They say business in the front, party in the back. But with this kid? It’s full-on rebellion, front to back.
