As a former foster youth and then transracially adopted (white child to black parents), my parents allow me to explore my own identity and what that may look and feel like to me. I saw a kid in my oldest brothers basketball team that look like me and had the coolest mullet and I wanted it! My mom took me to the barbershop and I’ve been rocking lil’ lightening ever since!
