Five years ago, my buddy and I started growing our hair out without much thought. As it got longer and longer in the back, we joked about getting a mullet. We laughed—but it was the kind of laugh that meant “let’s do it”. Before we knew it, we had a pair of horse trimmers from our barn, and were trimming the sides of our heads under a porch light. When I looked in the mirror, I knew it was perfect. We rocked our mullets with pride, and it caught on fast. Before long, more of our buddies joined in. What started as a fun night turned into a full-blown trend within our group.
