My mullet journey began in 2021, and safe to say, I’ve never looked back. I owe it all to my dad—he suggested I grow a mullet because I’ve always been an old soul with a deep love for the '80s. I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong era, and the mullet just felt right.
From day one, I was committed. Then one day, my mom came across a contest online and encouraged me to enter. So, I did. I signed up for the 2023 USA Mullet Championship—and I won! That moment was unforgettable.
Since then, it’s been amazing being recognized in my town. I’ll be walking down the street and hear someone yell, “Hey, I voted for your mullet!” It’s always a great conversation starter. The support I’ve received from my community has meant the world to me—hence my title: Southernmost Mullet.
Over the years, people have offered me money to cut it off—but I always say no. People constantly suggest I should cut it, but the mullet has become a part of me. It represents who I am.
