I’ve always had a gorgeous head of hair and sported all types of hairstyles from bald fades to braids, but still something was missing and I was longing for more. I tried to ignore it, but the sound and urge of this hairstyle kept calling and it was similar to an ice cold beer opening on a hot summer day! That’s when it hit me like the smell of fresh cow patty in the early morning; the Mullet! A hairstyle not many could pull off, but I knew I could. After countless hours of growing and grooming, Texas Tailgate was born. Many people came up to me expressing the joy and nostalgia Texas Tailgate brought to them and I quickly realized that the mullet lifestyle was for me. In its second year of life I entered the 2022 Mullet champ competition. After making top 25 I could visualize that #1 spot was within reach! Once the competition closed and votes were added up I placed top 3 mullet in the nation. Even though I fell short I really enjoyed myself and got to experience something glorious and exciting. My slogan “GET YO MULLET ON!” fired up a lot of people and the competition really had me inspiring others including my two sons to grow their young mullets. This year Texas Tailgate and I have some redemption ahead of us and plan on bringing home this years trophy for the best Mullet in the U.S. of A! I’m putting Texas on the map for the 2023 Mullet championship, y’all better watch out.
