Long time admirer, first time grower.

Through my teenage years, I played a ton of sports, which meant: buzz cut.
At the cold and snowy college, Michigan Tech, I needed to stay warm, which meant: curly mop...then buzz cut.

Every time I got a cut, I would hear two things:
“Is it a perm?” I would reply "I don't know what that is."
“Women would die for these curls!” I would reply "I don't know how to take care of them."

My friend was going to school for cosmetology, and I told her to do whatever she wanted with my (relatively short) hair. I would joke about wanting a mullet. My dad had one, and so did my favorite country singers and football players (skol to Jared Allen!). I kinda wanted to join the club! Before I started training for my marathon, I asked my friend for a haircut, with the same conditions. When I asked what she tried, she held up a mirror...it was the birth of a healthy, Baby Mullet.

My mullet and I...we try to bring happiness and energy everywhere we go! It can be dressed up for attending an orchestral performance, float with the beer cooler down the river, loosen up engineering meetings, be annoying when working out, and inspire others to do the things they love and find fun.

As my mother’s father’s genetics start to kick in, I realize that I will need to a good home for my hair. When it is long enough, I hope to donate my curls to kids in need. The mullet has brought me enjoyment, kept me warm in the winter, and it has been a fun opportunity to enjoy my natural curls. I can’t wait for it to bring happiness to someone else!
