Kevin Begola

Kevin is the Founder of the USA Mullet Championships and has a passion for mullets and sports!  He founded the mullet contest after watching beard contests being held around the country and thought it would be a fun marketing idea for his store in Fenton, MI called Bridge Street Exchange. He wanted to blend culture of hair into sports with this wild idea and the rest has been a crazy ride. Kevin has a wife and 3 kids who support his crazy ideas and his passion to make people laugh and smile.   He is a builder and loves to see projects get done as a serial entrepreneur who never settles for “simple.”

Kevin owned his own wedding ring business for over 15 years and was featured in some interesting shows/places including Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Lizard Lick Towing, and he even did wedding rings for Jason Aldean’s wedding years ago.

When he isn’t working or spending time with his family he is an avid sports fan and loves to hang out with his friends.

Ashley Medina

Ashley is a minimalist sporting a mullet, tattoos and an all-black wardrobe who’s focused on her daughter, her community, her health and her career as a hairdresser at Bliss Hair Studio. Ashley is best known for the haircut she rocks herself and that so many people ask her to give them − the mullet.

On Instagram and TikTok, where she has more than 700,000 followers, Medina is known as “mother mullet.” She uses the platform to expound on and praise the cut’s value and practicality and to give people a glimpse into the consultation and creative process that goes into giving a client one of their own.

Ashley has been cutting and styling hair since graduating from Laingsburg High School in the late 1990s but got serious about her career after having her daughter.

Big Scott Collard

AKA The Godfather

Yo! Raymond Collard here! But I go by BigScott because my son’s name is also Scott. But most folks know me as the Godfather. I was given this nickname by Johnny Coletrain because I’ve had my mullet since 1987 and he thinks I’m full of wisdom with sound advice and treat everyone as if they are part of my family. I’m also an administrator in the Facebook group The Mullet That Changed My Life AD

I’ve been married to the love of my life, Kathy, for over 30 years now. She accepted me with my mullet then and still supports it now. Though she says I take more selfies now than a teenage girl does. Lol

Everyone’s opinion about what the mullet lifestyle is or should be varies from person to person as well as the mullet because there are no two mullets alike. Each individual must find out within themselves what style works best for them and represent it well.

Big Scotts hobbies include hunting, fishing and generally being a good dude!
